Music Video Narrative:
- The artist is trying to promote the fact that it SHOULD be perfectly acceptable in a meritocratic society for anybody to have a relationship with anybody that they want.
- This is designed to promote that the relationship shouldn’t be judged, irrespective of age, gender etc...
- In my music video, I will be focusing on age as a difference that the artist watches causing relationship strains and show her distaste toward this discrimination.
- I will use the lyrics to promote the idea that despite any different characteristics, two people cannot defy love.
- The part of the chorus, ‘cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling’ will star the artist lips syncing to try and convey her personal feelings toward the power of love.
- There will be mid-shots of the artist being held back by her Grandad and Mother, who do not want her to go and meet her boyfriend, this will convey the fact that her grandad is stuck in the traditional past. He will also wear a cross to further emphasise this image.
- These shots will be in the fast-paced, most likely to the instrumental part of the song.
- The video will end with the couple who won’t have yet been seen together in the video, finally with each other and I’ll create a flashback of all their memories that I’ll introduce in the music video and highlight by tinting these clips sepia.
- This narrative will promote the artist as a kind, wise young adult, who’ll inspire young girls by showing them that despite their age, religion or gender, they shouldn’t be passive or powerless.
- The main value-transference of this video from the artist onto the audience is to take chances and strive for what they believe in and that a relationship can work regardless of hurdles it faces because of society.
- The lyrics will not consistently mirror the narrative because the song is generally lovey-dovey happy and fairytale like, whereas the point I want my artist to appear to be trying to make is that real life can be the opposite to that idealised image.
